Join Snappy Runners every Saturday at Cutting Room Square for a social 5km run around Manchester city centre. This volunteer-led group is for adults who want to stay active, meet new people, and enjoy a friendly, conversational pace of around 6.5 minutes per km. After the run, stick around for a coffee and a catch-up with fellow runners.

This weekly running club in Manchester City Centre is for adults who want to get active and make new friends.
It takes place every Wednesday at Track Brewery, where you’ll join 50 to 60 other runners for a relaxed, sociable run around the city. The group starts and finishes at Track, with the option to stay afterwards for a beer and a slice of pizza.
It’s beginner friendly, socially paced, and no one gets left behind.
There’s no need to book. Just turn up. It’s free.

It takes place on Thursdays at Wilbraham St Ninians Church and is run by Chorlton Good Neighbours. It takes place every Saturday at Carlton Club and offers a friendly, hands-on way to socialise. Come along to make new friends, care for plants and get involved in seasonal gardening tasks.

This friendly support group for LGBT+ people over 50 meets regularly in Manchester’s city centre. Join them at Cross Street Chapel every Thursday from 2–4pm, or at Manchester Central Library on the first Wednesday of each month, also from 2–4pm. Alongside regular meetups, the group offers excellent cultural day trips ‘out in the city’, from music and theatre outings to shared meals.

This gentle but effective chair aerobics class is ideal if you are looking for an accessible way to move your body.
Maybe you’re recovering from a knee, hip or ankle injury, or maybe you want to spare your knees and hips from the strain of a standing aerobics class.
You’ll do exercises that enhance your posture and body alignment, Pilates moves to strengthen your core muscles, and gentle aerobics to keep your heart healthy without the strain.
If you want to enjoy all the benefits of aerobic exercise in a class designed for all fitness levels, then head over to Stretford Public Hall.
It’s £3 per class, but you are welcome to pay what you can afford.
