Welcome to Bright Sparks, an events guide for participatory events, activities, clubs, and community groups.
By using our Services (including the website, newsletter, and event submissions), you confirm that you are at least 18 years old and agree to these Terms. If you are under 18, you should review these Terms with a parent or guardian.
1. Using Our Service
Bright Sparks helps residents, businesses, non-profits and community groups share and discover local participatory events and activities. You can:
- Submit one‑off or recurring events
- Promote events through our website, newsletter and social channels
- Use our tools for community engagement
All events must be participatory in nature. We may remove listings that are illegal, unsafe, discriminatory, misleading, primarily commercial or political in focus.

Event approval is at our discretion, and submission does not guarantee distribution across all channels.
2. Membership & Payments
Your membership supports the running of the platform and helps keep it free for residents, and affordable for everyone else in the network.
- Payments are processed securely.
- Unless otherwise stated, membership fees are non‑refundable.
- Unless otherwise stated, we may update our membership levels in the future, but current subscriptions will be honoured until their renewal.
3. Content You Submit
You retain ownership of everything you submit (event descriptions, images, etc.). By submitting content, you grant Bright Sparks a non‑exclusive, worldwide, royalty‑free licence to display, share and promote it across our platforms. You confirm that your content does not infringe third‑party rights.
4. How You Use the Platform
You agree to use Bright Sparks responsibly and in accordance with the law. You must not:
- Submit information that is false, unlawful, offensive, or harmful
- Misrepresent your identity or affiliations
- Interfere with the operation or security of the platform
Bright Sparks may suspend or terminate access to Services if these Terms are violated.
5. Disclaimers & Liability
We aim to keep listings accurate, but we cannot guarantee completeness, reliability or timeliness. You attend events at your own risk. Bright Sparks is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Bright Sparks and its affiliates are not liable for disputes arising from participation in events, any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or loss of data, income or reputation.
6. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Bright Sparks, its staff and affiliates from any claims, losses or expenses arising from your use of the service or your breach of these Terms.
7. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We’ll post the revised effective date when that happens. Continued use of the service after changes means you accept the updated terms.
8. Privacy
Your use of Bright Sparks is also governed by our Privacy & Cookies Policy, which explains how we collect and use personal information.
9. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
